About
Hi, I’m Tuppy Glossop.
Tuppy is a pseudonym I’ve used for much of my online marketing work. I still have a day job and I’d prefer to keep my real name out of the picture while I build up enough income to let me quit my job. (Perhaps then I can have a big virtual coming-out party to announce the real identity of the man behind the curtain.)
I grew up in England, and lived there until I was around 20; I then moved to the USA to go to graduate school in Kansas. I ended up staying in the Midwest for almost 20 years. After a brief stop in Omaha I moved to Minneapolis where I was soon to meet my wife (aka Mrs. Tuppy). We spent the first twelve years of our marriage living in the suburbs of Minneapolis with our four kids; fairly quiet people, not particularly given to doing anything unusual. Seemingly quite normal, you might think. And then, finally, we jumped.
For years, my wife and I had dreamed of moving to Israel. We were there for a brief trip early in our marriage and my wife had studied there for a few months in her late twenties. But life, and jobs, and kids, and family, and inertia, and fear, and uncertainty kept getting in the way of this dream. Until the summer of 2002, when we happened to be talking about Israel and realized that both of us had been thinking the same thing for several months: We should do it. We should move there soon.
It took us two years of planning to get our lives in order and make the move and in 2004 our family moved to Efrat, a small town about 15 minutes drive south of Jerusalem. We’ve been here almost four years now, and have settled in quite happily. Neither Mrs. Tuppy nor I have taken mainstream jobs here since our move to Israel. Instead, with the freedom that the Internet gives us we both work in the US from a distance. My wife is an assistant to a teleradiologist who covers the night shift on the East Coast from here in Israel, while I’m continuing to build my internet marketing business.
